This week for Reading are task was to predict the storyline of a story we were allowed to look at the images and the title but thats all we got, with the  knolage I got from the images and text I was able to predict closly to the story here is my predicting.

How can we be Champions of Peace

For the last four weeks of Term 3 we were learning about ‘How we can be Champions of Peace. 

Firstly we learnt about the different symbols of peace. Some of these are The victory sign, the dove and olive branch, and a 2d heart.

These symbols represent peace because a heart means love and love means peace. the dove and olive branch symbolizes peace because in the bible it meant the earth was habitable again.  

With these symbols in mind I created a Peace Artwork. My Peace Artwork represents peace because It has the rainbow and the Victory sign.

We also researched some real life champions of peace and wrote a short biography. I wrote about Malala Yousafzai. I thought this person was a champion of peace because she promotes common good and human dignity.

We also created a peace prayer book. I have attached my peace prayer book here.

I enjoyed learning about peace because we can use our learning to promote peace by helping others in the community.

I learnt why world peace is so hard to get becouse everyone wants more than they have and they will do lots to get more.

One way I plan on being a champion of peace is by helping the community out.

This week in reading our goals were to make predictions about a text and look for clues to confirm predictions. So we all picked a story to predict from I picked Spark. Predicting is looking at the images in the text and making a educated guess to predict what will happen in the book. Here is my DLO.

Are you good at predicting?

In science, we have been learning about Electricity. I already knew that electricity can conduct from certain materials but not from others. One of the experiments we did was the squishy circuit. My hypothesis was that the electricity could flow through the playdoh and not the clay because playdoh has water in it.

Something I found challenging was finding a plug that wasn’t rusted, Out of all the experiments we did I really enjoyed doing the solar-powered car because it was already built and it wasn’t really hard to put together.

This week we have been doing probaliity so we used a wheel of names and spun it 45 times to see what we got compared to the 25 persent have a look

What breakfast item would you choose?

Over the course of term one we have looked at the question: How can we help build a resilient community? We are using something called The Resilience Project to understand simple tricks to make our lives better.

I have learnt that GEM is a lifeskill that everyone should know.

The whole school had a showcase evening to look at all the students’ creations and learn more about The Resilience Project.

We decided to create a Gratitude journal an Empathy Story and a Mindfulness Line Rider because we wanted to do something for Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness.

I now understand what GEM is and how I can use it in my life to be happier.

Throughout the creating process I feel like I did the Line Rider track  really well. I could have been better at  synchronizing the music.

I think Izzy and I could of collaborated better if we had all our work done.

If I was to do this again, next time I would try harder to  get my work done on time.

In class today we were debating wether E-sports is a sport or not so we did some resurch and found some facts like did you know that playing video games inproves memory so we created a DLO hope you like it

Kia ora and welcome back to my blog. Over the last two weeks we have been reading about e- sports vs sports. We have read some articles about whether video games should be copnsidered a sport. I think it should because it has the same skills as other sports. These skills are teamwork, communication and sometimes for esports you need to do physical activites like normal sports. 

We also read some articles about gaming being good for your brain. Some of things that gaming is good for are memory and multitasking. If you play video games it helps with your memory. Playing games helps you multitask and be able to do two things at once.

Here is my DLO that I created with my o]pinion about e sports v real sports. I also have made a video about my opinion.

I learnt that gaming improves however it doesn´t seem to be improving mine.

What do you think should E-sports be a real sport?

Today it was Shrove Tuesday so we went into the staff room and made make some pancakes and learn about Shrove Tuesday well we waited.  We make pancakes to use up all the milk and eggs because its the day before Lent starts.

We aslo created a DLO to teach others about it and what we do on Shore Tuesday

Hi bloggers today I will be sharing my character. Our task was t0 make charaters and describe them and talk about things that they liked.  My character is called Daryl. He really enjoys building things out of wood. He enjoys hanging out with his friends. If you read on you will find out some more things about him.
